Corroded felt at the eave of the roof, installation of eave trays and breathable membrane.
PROPERTY TYPE
Detached house
COVERING TYPE
Concrete tile
ADDITIONAL MATERIALS
Eave trays, breathable membrane
The existing felt had crystallized over the many years of weathering, which is very typical of this style house. To resolve the issue, we remove the first three courses of tiles, and cut away the felt. The eave trays are installed and fixed onto the roof trusses. A new, breathable membrane is fixed to the roof, ensuring the water will fall away from the roof and into the gutters. The battens are refixed, and the tiles placed back. The verges are recemented.
