The detached bungalow had shown areas of condensation and rot, as the battens had started to give way in certain areas. To improve the thermal aspect of the building, rigid insulation was used in the converted loft while the roof was open. New breathable felt was fixed to the trusses. The dormer was reclad in a grey plain tile to make it a feature of the roof. Two valleys at the rear of the roof were replaced with fibreglass GRP valleys.
